Community day for planting trees on an otherwise tree-less and trash filled block in the Potrero Hill neighborhood in San Francisco. Part of a larger effort by a nonprofit neighborhood organization, Pennsylvania Street Gardens, to cleanup, green, and provide safe public gardens in the neighborhood.
Already funded: The Trees (whoo hoo! what a relief)
Needed to make it happen: $500
~ Tree Care. Treegators, a special water-wise device for delivering water to new trees. Healthy trees are happy.
~ Tree maintenance. Pruners (2) designed to cut tree branches
~ Community Outreach. Getting the word out to neighbors about the opportunity to shape the neighborhood. Signs, flyers, posters, emails, phone calls.
~ Community Day. Cool drinks and snacks for neighbors who come out to help plant a tree!
